Dear Powerplay managers,
We're excited to share the latest product updates that will surely improve your experience on our platform.
After analyzing detailed scoring data obtained from the recent tournaments as well as updates and changes in CS2 since CS:GO, we have decided to make necessary adjustments to the scoring system. These changes are required to keep the scoring system fair and balanced across all roles. In CS2, for instance, the Support role saw a big improvement in power due to a significant increase in the amount of average assist events per match. However, the Sniper role was weakened due to significant gameplay changes for the weapon in CS2.
Balance Changes: Role Coefficient to get an update
A key facet of these updates is the refinement of the Role Coefficient – a multiplier crucial in determining a player's score based on their assigned role.
We have found several areas for improvement, which has led us to modify the Role Coefficient for multiple roles to better measure the impact of specific roles.
You can find all the changes below:
Role | Event | Previous Role Coefficient | New Role Coefficient |
IGL | matchWin | 1 | 0.7 |
IGL | sweepWin | 1 | 0.7 |
Sniper | killByAwp | 0.5 | 1 |
Support | assist | 2 | 1 |
Support | death | 0.3 | 0.2 |
EntryFragger | entryKill | 1 | 1.4 |
Killmachine | headshot | 0.4 | 1 |
Killmachine | triple | 0.4 | 0.4 |
Killmachine | quad | 0.4 | 0.4 |
Killmachine | ace | 0.4 | 0.4 |
Additionally, respective changes will be shown in role-scoring articles. You can test the new scoring system by participating in a practice tournament.
