Here you will find the list of basic terms that will help you understand the main elements of the game.
Powerplay — free-to-play card fantasy game platform dedicated to esports.
Fantasy card game — a game in which the player, as a Manager, sets up a virtual team with the collected cards. The team earns points according to the actual performance of the players in a real match.
Fantasy tournament — in-game activity connected to real-life esports events. Each tournament consists of rounds.
Round — selected number of real-life esports matches within the set timeframe. The length of the round depends on the type of tournament you are participating in.
Fantasy season — a set of fantasy tournaments within a certain period of time.
Manager — a person playing Powerplay.
Player — real-life esports pro player. Explore the Powerstats section to discover the players from different teams available on Powerplay, and learn their game stats.
Team — a collective of real professional esports players who have come together to compete in tournaments and leagues. The esports teams at Powerplay correspond to the real esports teams.
Roster — players who actually participate in a specific esports tournament, representing their team. In real life, an esports team may have more players than needed for participation in a tournament, including substitute players, etc. But the roster is the exact team composition representing the team in a specific tournament. Team rosters can be found in various esports statistics and on news websites before the tournaments begin.
Lineup — a unique team of players featured on cards, selected by the Powerplay Manager to participate in the round.
Card — a game asset required to participate in the fantasy tournament. The Manager obtains game cards by opening card bundles. To learn more, refer to the article Anatomy of a Card.
Bundle — a set of selected game cards. Both the bundles containing cards and the already opened cards are stored in the Inventory section.
Demo / Practice tournament — a practice tournament based on real tournament data, serving as a game sandbox for practice and learning the game mechanics. Explore it here.
Scoring system — point-based system for assessment of players' real-life performance. The system is built on positive and negative scoring for in-game trackable events. More details in the Scoring and Roles section.
Powerstats — data section of Powerplay platform. Contains historical data on player performance based on the actual scoring system at the moment of recording. You can find out more about it on the Powerstats page.
Inventory — a section of the platform that stores a set of game resources (card bundles and cards) owned by the Manager.
Playground — a dedicated section where managers can access a list of ongoing competitions and their current status, then choose an event and start playing.
Tournament calendar — a list of all game events on the platform.
Leaderboard — a dynamic list showing the performance of Powerplay managers based on their points in the game, allowing them to see how well they are doing compared to each other.
Marketplace – a section at Powerplay where managers can trade cards.
Card exchange – a free Powerplay Marketplace feature that enables you to swap cards with other managers through offers and bids.
Offer – an offer to exchange a card at Powerplay Marketplace.
Bid – a response to an offer created at Powerplay Marketplace.
Trader – a Manager who puts a card up for exchange on the Marketplace; the one that made the offer.
Bidder – a Manager who offers their card in response to a trader's offer; the one that made the bid.
